Background and Experience:

I am a Director of Edwards Surveyors Ltd which is an independent, Chartered Surveying practice based in Whitstable, Kent. Edwards Surveyors is regulated by the RICS and I am a Registered Valuer under the RICS Valuer Registration Scheme.

Having qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in 1983 my work, since 1986, has predominantly involved the preparation of mortgage valuation reports, for a wide variety of Lending Institutions, together with Homebuyer Reports (now known as RICS Home Survey Level 2 Inspections) and Building Surveys of residential properties for private Clients. I undertake valuations of residential property for tax purposes i.e Inheritance and Capital Gains Tax, Leasehold Extensions and produce Party Wall Awards.

I am regularly employed as an Expert Witness in relation to property valuation and survey issues. I am fully conversant with the Civil Procedure Rules and all relevant RICS Guidance Notes, Practice Statements, Information Papers and the RICS Valuation Standards (Red Book). I have particular expertise in relation to Japanese Knotwood and act as a consultant for the Expert Surveyors Group.

Geographical coverage:

My area of operation to date has been throughout north and west London extending into the northern Home Counties and the north Kent coast. As of 2026, my area of operation is primarily north Kent orientated.
